The authorities will give to mobile operators 3.3 billion on a covering of four highways

2019: Tender on a covering cellular communication of routes of federal importance of R-21 Kola, A-331 Vilyuy, A-360 Lena and R-504 Kolyma

On October 22, 2019 it became known what the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications announced four competitions on providing subsidies for a covering of objects of transport infrastructure cellular networks with a possibility of a call of emergency services. Competitions are announced concerning automobile routes of federal importance R-21 Kola, A-331 Vilyuy, A-360 Lena and R-504 Kolyma.

The largest size of subsidies which are intended to be distributed the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications in 2019-2020 is connected with the Kolyma highway passing across the territory of Yakutia. It will be 1.69 billion rubles.

Subsidies for a covering of the Vilyuy highway will make 800 million rubles. The route passes across the territory of Yakutia and the Irkutsk region. For a covering of the Lena highway of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications it is ready to select 500 million rubles. The route passes across the territory of the Amur region and Yakutia.

Subsidizing of a covering of the Kola highway will cost 330 million rubles. This route passes across the territory of the Republic of Karelia and Murmansk region. The size of subsidies for its covering of the route which are intended to be distributed the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications in 2019-2020 will be 331 million rubles.

So all for 2019-2020 3.3 billion rubles will be spent for a covering cellular svyazyyuukazanny routes from the federal budget. It is obvious that VimpelCom will have the greatest interest in participation in tender, Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), MegaFon and Tele2.

In each tender there will be one winner operator who will have to provide a possibility of use constructed by it infrastructures other mobile operators. Operators who will receive subsidies will have to provide to 100% a covering of the respective routes without use of the technologies not compatible to the system of the emergency response to road accident of "ERA-GLONASS"^[1].
