"And + About Transproyekt" delivered in Tbilisi tools for transport planning

2019: Delivery of versions of PTV Visum 18 and PTV Vissim 11

On October 30, 2019 it became known that the And + About Transproyekt company, the Russian competence center in the field of modeling of traffic flows and transport planning delivered in City administration of Tbilisi updating of software packages for transport modeling of PTV Vision Traffic Suite. By software it will be used for development of schemes of the organization of traffic and tracking of their efficiency.

Current versions PTV Visum PTV Vissim 18 and 11 were transferred to the city administration. The transport models created through PTV Visum calculate the forecast passenger automobile, cargo flows and help to estimate effect of implementation constructions of outcomes, expansions of the carriageway, introduction of additional routes. The city administration applies in the work transport model Tbilisi as the tool to transport planning and also other actions which will allow people to move more comfortably on the city and to transport loads. Therefore updating and upgrade of the software package delivered in 2012 — a necessary step.

PTV Vissim allows to carry out simulation modeling: create model of the movement of each car taking into account individual behavior of each driver. Thanks to the solution it is possible to model networks with different options of the organization of traffic at intersections and sections of network and to estimate influence of various forms on capacity, motion speed, delays at difficult stops taking into account the movement of trams and buses. Improving steady urban transport policy, the administration of the Georgian capital performs projects on optimization of traffic in Tbilisi — on Chavchavadze Avenue, Hizanishvili's streets, Vekua and others. Redistribution of transport resources and services, traffic management and planning are carried out according to results of research work, the analysis and modeling to PTV Vissim.

Sustainable development in town-planning practice solves strategic and tactical problems of formation of the city infrastructure which is not creating negative outer effects. Use of technologies helps to project and build objects of the urban environment and a transport network which will be used by citizens throughout long time. The administration of Tbilisi goes on this way and is interested in the qualitative and modern transport system of the city. Therefore delivery and further use of the PTV software products will promote sustainable development of the transport system and its compliance to relevant technology trends,

For October, 2019 to Tbilisi there is implementation of several large transport projects: the "Sustainable Development of City Mobility" program and the program for restructuring of bus network of Tbilisi and integration of the automated payment system financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forms. The scheme of the Tbilisi public transport was created using the transport model of the city developed in PTV Visum.
