2019: Check of pilotless transport on observance of traffic regulations

On October 31, 2019 the RVC company reported that Vocord will check pilotless transport for observance of traffic regulations.

For this purpose on a polygon of NAMI where within the final of the technology tender Up Great "Winter City" pilotless vehicles will be tested, the company will install a control system of traffic regulations of VOCORD Traffic.

Pilotless transport and its ability to go on the city will check in December, 2019 in on a polygon of the Center of tests of NAMI in Dmitrovsky district of Moscow area. Machines UAVs, 50 km of a route with a different road situation, 3 hours on passing of a track and severe, winter weather conditions — all this expects finalists of "The winter city", the technology competition organized by RVC, Skolkovo Foundation and the Agency of strategic initiatives.

UAVs of contestants should simply will not to overcome straight sections of roads, to pass on city quarters and "traffic jams", but also to show good results in recognition of a road situation and to follow traffic regulations. For this purpose on a polygon the traffic control system will be installed.

For impartial assessment of observance of traffic regulations by pilotless machines we will set several stationary complexes of automatic photovideo fixing. It will be three VOCORD Cyclops complexes which detects violations of the high-speed mode on straight sections of roads, and two more compact Vocord MicroCyclops for intersections. The last will fix driving into the oncoming lane, a turn in the prohibited place and not admission of the pedestrian,
commented Fedor Smirnov, the marketing director and to the international development of Vokord company, the partner of final tests of the tender "Winter City"

Complexes will transfer information on perfect violations, numbers of vehicles on Wi-Fi and mobile communication channels to the central server from where information will be broadcast on screens in the Center of monitoring. It will allow participants and the audience to trace quickly a situation on a polygon.

The tender Up Great "Winter City" is directed to overcoming a global technology barrier on control of unmanned vehicles in extreme weather conditions and further development of the technologies of an auto pilot which are most adapted to use in the Russian climatic and road conditions. Five commands will participate in the final of tender: BaseTrack, StarLine, the Winter city of Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate, a command of the Nizhny Novgorod state technical university and ABTO-PTK (the combined team of Scientific design office of computing systems and Onboard Intelligent Systems company from Taganrog, SFU and YuZGU). The winner will become the command whose UAV will be able to pass 50 km on winter roads quicker than in three hours, following at the same time traffic regulations. Prize fund of tender is 175 million rubles.
