2019: Selectel HyperServer entry into the market — solutions for creation of servers with a big computing power

On October 31, 2019 the Selectel company, provider of cloud services and services of data centers, provided Selectel HyperServer — the solution for creation of servers with a huge computing power.

Cloud computing replaces traditional approaches in one more sphere — the sphere of high-performance computing. Selectel HyperServer became an alternative to the difficult and expensive computer systems used in business to modeling and development, predictive analytics and other tasks with processing of huge data arrays.

At the heart of Selectel service technology which integrates from two to tens normal servers in one software-defined server. The hypervisor in real time analyzes loading and distributes it between physical nodes. In the maximum configuration such computer receives up to 1024 cores and the 64th terabyte of RAM.

Selectel HyperServer combines advantages of software-defined technologies and service model — the low price of ownership, payment on consumption, instant scaling. It guarantees flexible cloud approach to creation of IT infrastructure. On technical characteristics service exceeds multisocket computing systems and approaches supercomputers for millions of dollars. Though the in-memory computing technology de facto became the standard for high-performance computing, its distribution is limited by high cost of traditional platforms. Computing systems gather from powerful nodes with multi-core processors and hundreds of modules of memory, their synchronous work is supported by the special equipment. Among other minuses — long terms of delivery and deployment and practical impossibility of scaling of such systems.

Selectel HyperServer eliminates these defects and expands borders of application of in-memory computing. The price of the hyper server consists of a rate for the dedicated servers making it and the monthly license of a hypervisor. It is tens times cheaper, than purchase of the ready-made solution from vendor. The hyper server is installed within a week, for correction of its technical characteristics there are enough several days. Except this Selectel HyperServer it is possible to use for regular tasks and in short projects, for example, for check of a new hypothesis, debugging of changes before implementation or a pilot project.
