On November 11, 2019 BELTEL company reported that it implemented complete technical solution for online of distance learning at the Russian institute of theater – GITIS.

According to the company, for project implementation the solution which would allow not to break creative process in the audiences provided for integration as distance learning takes place along with internal was required. Other requirements were: a possibility of communication in the teleconference mode without signal delay, stable work of complex 24/7 and a scaling option of a system in the future.

The project included equipment of two hardware and six audiences located on two platforms of institute. Audiences are provided by several faculties: Actor's faculty, Teatrovedchesky faculty, Producer faculty, the Dance hall in the academic building, Faculty of sound direction.

Hardware of premises includes: a set of professional video of the equipment, the system of special lighting, information display system, a sound hardware, the equipment of equipment rooms, workstations and servers for installation, storage and release of programs.

The multimedia complex is constructed based on the equipment of the following producers: Newtek, Birddog, Panasonic, Logocam, Blackmagic, Yamaha, Audinate, Samsung, Sennheiser, NEC, Cisco, FaseCast, TrueConf.

In audiences sessions of distance learning with participation of the teacher and group of listeners by method of multichamber shooting using two camcorders installed on mobile supports, one remotely operated robotic camera, a set of television lighting are held. Display of removed participants of a session on video monitors of a big format is provided. The technical complex allows to manage film-making process both directly in audience, and far off from an equipment room control station.

Use of video of the equipment with signal transmission under the NDI protocol became key feature of technical solution. The NDI protocol is the bidirectional standard which works through the standard GigE local area network with a set of the video flows which are transferred on the distributed connection has the minimum delay in 1 frame, a high-quality compression without loss at a repeated compression. It allows to transmit a signal in high quality, with the minimum delay, at the minimum capacity of the channel. Audio delivery is also performed on standard Ethernet networks by means of the Dante protocol. This solution allows to scale a technical complex further.

Important element of a complex is the system of special lighting for all six audiences not only for directly lighting, but also for creation of all elements of art light (kontrovy, background, drawing, filling) and rated light and color parameters of lighting. It consists from: suspended lighting instruments, system of remote control of lighting, autonomous portable system of floor lighting.

Feature of a complex is use of two systems for remote broadcast of a lecture. The first system allows to provide real-life communication in the teleconference mode between the teacher and removed listeners in regions of Russia. The second system allows to provide training in a format of webinars for the bigger number of listeners (to 10,000 people). Also in this system storage function and protection of broadcastings in the cloud storage is provided. It allows to provide access to the held programs/master classes for listeners and students.

For November, 2019 using a multimedia complex more than 15 programs of different subject lasting 468 hours are carried out. Positive reviews of participants were by results received. The multimedia complex is involved in several educational theatrical performances. The possibility of expansion of scope of remote technologies at institute is studied.
