Rostelecom completed upgrade of street lighting in the city of Mikhaylovka of the Volgograd region

2019: Completion of upgrade of street lighting

On November 13, 2019 Rostelecom South announced completion of upgrade of street lighting in the city of Mikhaylovka of the Volgograd region. The staff of the company installed 4129 LED lamps and created an end-to-end system of electricity metering and management of street lighting. A system gives the chance to exercise control of parameters of network, to set the seasonal and daily lighting modes, to optimize loadings and to remotely transfer information on the consumed electric power. Project implementation will allow Mikhaylovka to save about 60-70% of budgetary funds and also it is essential to reduce energy costs.

Upgrade of street lighting – one of significant components of the complex project the 'Smart" city', including a set of the necessary and useful innovative solutions directed, finally, to creation of the comfortable and safe urban environment. It is sure that now residents of Mikhaylovka will want to walk more often on streets of the hometown, and successful experiment on implementation of digital technologies of 'smart' lighting will be picked up also by other localities of the region, noted Sergey Pulinets, the director of the Volgograd branch PJSC Rostelecom
