2023: Installation plan for 30 spacecraft

Holding "Roselectronics" State Corporation Rostec began the supply of microwave devices for installation on 30 spacecraft. Rostec announced this on July 20, 2023.

2019: Roselektronika will create the first domestic production of microwave switches for satellites

The Roselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation, with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (FRP), on November 21, 2019 announced its intention to launch the first domestic production of ultra-high-frequency switches for artificial Earth satellites. The project is aimed at import substitution and reducing dependence on foreign supplies of microwave equipment for the space industry.

Each satellite carries up to 20 microwave amplifiers on board, as well as transceiving equipment. All equipment is connected to each other by microwave switches providing energy transmission with minimal losses.

The main consumers of microwave switches are enterprises of the rocket and space industry, including Russian space systems, FSUE NIIR, Information satellite systems named after Reshetnev.

The production of microwave switches will be launched at the Saratov NPP Almaz (part of Roselectronics) in early 2021. The total project budget is 344 million rubles, of which 250 million rubles can be provided to the FRP in the form of a preferential loan.
