National credit cards Union Card, NCC

The joint payment system NCC|UC (Natsionalnye creditnye kartochki Ltd) is formed in 2005 as a result of merge of the NCC and Union Card payment systems working at financial market of Russia since 1993. Union Card was included into the joint payment system NCC|UC.

2019: Stop of work on the solution of the Central Bank of Russia

In February, 2019 the Central Bank of Russia excluded from the register operators Union Card payment system. It is said in regulator materials. As it is specified in the document, the decision on an exception of Processing Company Union Kard Ltd was made on February 28, 2019. Let's remind that according to the law "On the National Payment System" in Russia only those payment systems which operators are included in the corresponding register of the Bank of Russia can work^[1].

Earlier, on January 9 the regulator excluded from the register of operators of payment systems record about Natsionalnye creditnye kartochki (NCC Ltd) Ltd as the operator of NCC payment system (National Credit Cards).

The company provided processing services, performs transactions in the field of salary projects, credit programs, non-cash payments for goods and services, applying technology of plastic cards, the international and Russian payment systems. Emission policy is based on the potential of a large number of mid-sized and small banks, but powerful participants of a payment system are such large Russian banks as Bank of Moscow, the Khanty-Mansi bank, the Sviaz-Bank, Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Novikombank and others. According to information which was posted on the website Union Card earlier, at this payment system, in particular, was co-brand with the Chinese payment system UnionPay.

2014: The Central Bank recognizes a system natsionalnoznachimy

On October 31, 2014 the Central Bank recognized Union of Kard a natsionalnoznachimy system.

2005: "National credit cards" acquires 100% of the shares Union Card

In the reference on the website of NCC|UC was record that in 2005 Natsionalnye creditnye kartochki Ltd acquired 100% of shares of Processing Company Union Kard Ltd.

Both companies were registered to one address in the city of Togliatti. Clearing bank of Union Card and NCC payment systems was the Uralsib bank.

1993: Foundation of Union Card payment system

Union Card was founded in 1993. It is the Russian interbank payment system which part about 300 financial institutions are.

Union Card – one of the first Russian payment systems providing full range of services in the field of financial service on cards – from technology before processing and coordination of participants which occurs within the Union Card network covering many regions of Russia and also Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
