The Eset company [[ESET|]], the international developer of antivirus software and solutions in the field of a computer security, announced the largest staff changes in top management of Eset for all history of the company.
Founders and co-owners of the company - Miroslav Trnka, Rudolf Hrubý, Maros Gryund (Maro š Grund) and Anton Zajac, left managerial posts and left the positions in Board of Directors.
One more co-owner of the company - Richard Marko, (Richard Marko), which was earlier holding a position of the technical director is appointed the CEO of Eset. It released Miroslav Trnk from a duty.
Richard Marko is a graduate of the Slovak technical university in Koshitsa. He started the career in Eset during study in college and became one of coauthors of anti-virus solution of Eset Nod32 and developer of the mechanism of scanning. Its research works concerning antivirus protection were published in many countries of the world. Besides, Marko repeatedly performed with lectures about heuristic algorithms, in particular, at the Virus Bulletin and AVAR conferences.
Pavol Luka who was the Chief information officer of the company earlier became the new technical director of Eset. The chief researcher of Eset, Maros Gryund was replaced by Juraj Malcho, the former head of virus laboratory Eset. Milan Masaryk became Rudolf Hrubi's receiver and was appointed the chief financial officer of the company. Besides, also the director of the headquarters of Eset in North America, Anton Zayats was replaced. Its duties were transferred to Andrew Lee.
According to Mikhail Drozhzhevkin, the head of the Russian representative office of Eset, resignation of key figures in business of Eset is connected not with failures of the company, and just with its achievements. "This initiative occurs within global reorganization of management of Eset that is connected with high growth rates of the company, enlargement and expansion of business. In already broke all most optimistic records, the business-related companies", - he said. Drozhzhevkin considers that cardinal castling of management will bring the company to new level.
Industry analysts did not comment on an essence of changes for Eset yet. Meanwhile, according to IDC, in Eset business everything is not so smooth. In December IDC published results of the research "The World Market of Solutions of Security for End Users, Market Shares in 2009 and the Forecast for 2010-2014." (Worldwide Endpoint Security 2010–2014 Forecast and 2009 Vendor Shares) according to which Eset was called by the market leader and the most quickly growing company. However, then analysts found errors in own calculations.
According to the second version of this report, the annual growth of revenue of Eset developer — from 59.4% to 20.4% is three times reduced. At the same time analysts of IDC discredited Eset company as "most fast-growing vendor" in 2008-2009: in the corrected report version Kaspersky Lab (44.5%) got this rank. The second place on growth of revenue was taken by the AVG Technologies developer generally known for the free solutions (height of 23.4%), and Eset was at the third place.
