2019: Announcement

In November, 2019 Huawei opened source codes of the engine for virtualization of data of HetuEngine (the version of Open Source received the name openHetu). The Chinese company made the corresponding statement at the forum Global Intelligent Data Infrastructure 2019 organized by it.

Huawei will help partners to use this initiative Big Data as the normal database and also to simplify management of them and to provide data integration and applications.

Virtualization of data represents approach to data management which allows the application to take valuable information and to manage it, at the same time abstracting from technical details of how data are stored.

openHetu has open source kernel therefore developers will be able to configure this engine under own needs, including own data sources and politicians of accomplishment of SQL queries to provide fast compatibility with products and development.

New technologies, including a 5G, artificial intelligence and cloud to calculations, will transform our way of life and work, but at the same time generate huge amounts of data, putting the huge pressure upon the existing infrastructure of data and complicating effective search, extraction and use of data — the president of the Huawei Cloud & AI direction Hou Jinlong said, speaking at the Global Intelligent Data Infrastructure conference.

On this action Huawei provided several products intended for work with data at once. They can interact with each other and be used for all lifecycle of data — from collecting before processing. Integrating data at four levels, for example, between storage systems and databases or the Big Data platforms and DBMS, can reduce the total cost of transactions for the companies by 30%, including thanks to application of openHetu, claim in Huawei.^[1]
