On December 17, 2019 the LENTA company announced opening of hypermarket in the updated format. The retailer changed traditional arrangement of sections and improved a lighting system, diversified the range and started cafe in a trading floor. In LENTA the following technologies for retail work: touch cash desks with 2 big screens for the buyer and the cashier, modules of acceptance of cash in cafe, a multimedia price-chekery, solutions for self-service.
According to the company, in LENTA hypermarket on Obvodny Canal zoning is thought over: for example, ready food and cafe are at an input, vegetables near meat and fish, cheeses and meat delicacies — with bread and wine. The retailer put emphasis on fresh products which he buys from local farmers or independently imports. Lighting is brighter, light emphases on the most important departments: vegetables and fruit, cookery, fish and wine.
Design of shop locates buyers to a brand — names of departments are noticeable from far away, and additional texts motivate on purchase: "Are glad to ripe fruit", "Tasty. It is useful. Easily", "We select the best sorts", etc. The arrangement of sections is designed taking into account several popular routes: from single purchases on the next few hours to large for a week.
