2019: Response ten thousand of cars

At the end of December, 2019 the Mazda company announced a response ten thousand of cars which because of malfunctions in the software sharply pull up when it is not necessary. The problem concerns Mazda 3 fourth generations 2019 and 2020 of model years.

According to the Japanese car maker, an error in operation of the intelligent brake system (Smart Braking System, SBS) can lead to the fact that electronics distinguishes along the line machines a nonexistent object and automatically stops the vehicle in the emergency mode.

In certain cases the managing software of SBS can automatically force to work vehicle brakes for prevention or reduction of damage from collision even if collision is not inevitable. If the automatic system of emergency brake application of SBS is unexpectedly activated during driving, the risk of collision behind with the subsequent vehicle can increase, says Mazda.

At operation of brakes the car gives a sound signal. According to users though a system can be disconnected, it joins every time again at start of the car.

The company said that any case when the described defect was resulted by injuries or fatal cases was not registered.

Because of the specified defects under a response more than 35 thousand Mazda 3 cars got. Owners of potentially faulty machines need to arrive to the authorized dealer for carrying out repair.

It is noted that the Mazda 3 cars of later assembly require only reprogramming of the SBS system. In other cases it is necessary to replace or reprogram all meter panel to solve this problem.[1]
