2025: Connection of five regions of the Far Eastern Federal District

MegaFon has connected five regions of the Far Eastern Federal District to high-speed home Internet. Thus, the company completed a large-scale program to deploy the service in most of the country. The project was implemented thanks to the expansion of partnership with Rostelecom within the framework of the FVNO model. MegaFon announced this on November 25, 2025.

The service has become available to residents of the Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin Regions, Kamchatka Territory and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Now MegaFon's current and new customers in these territories will be able not only to use cellular communications, but also to connect the operator's home Internet, as well as get package access to popular online cinemas and TV. This will allow subscribers to significantly save on communication services and simplify cost management, since all services (mobile communications, home Internet and TV) are paid from one account.

This service for residents of these regions became available as a result of the expansion of the FVNO model implemented by MegaFon on the infrastructure of Rostelecom.

The FVNO (Fixed Virtual Network Operator) model virtual is an offer to customers of a converged product that combines mobile and fixed communications services in the absence of one of the partners of its own broadband Internet access infrastructure.

As part of the partnership between the operators, Rostelecom provides a free capacity for connecting home Internet in the region, and MegaFon offers its set of services and subscriber support. The first project on the FVNO model was launched by MegaFon in 2020 in Astrakhan. As of November 2025, taking into account new connections in the Far East, the company offers convergent tariffs in 72 regions of the country.
