2020: Closing because of drones

On February 3, 2020 the International airport of Adolfo Suárez in Madrid (Spain) temporarily suspended flights because of the drones noticed in close proximity to runways.

As reported in the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Spain after several pilots saw unmanned aerial vehicles near the airport, these airplanes which went in Adolfo Suárez's airport were forced to land on other airfield.

According to the Ministry of Transport, because of detection of the drone in airspace of the airport of Madrid 28 airplanes were redirected to other airports. After that the airspace of the airport was closed.

As specified in AENA, from the first 17 runs redirected from Madrid to other airports seven were sent to Valencia, on three — to Barcelona and Zaragoza respectively, even on two runs — to Valladolid and Alicante.

The ENAIRE company which is responsible for the organization of civil flights over Spain, recommended to passengers to learn as far as their runs will be postponed, and reminded that drones — "it is not toys", and the flying devices. Information on all restrictions for start-up drones in certain territories is on the website drones.enaire.es.

Approximately by 5 p.m. Moscow time on February 3, 2020 the International airport of Adolfo Suárez in Madrid resumed work in the normal mode.
