2020: Creation of a management system for investment projects

On March 10, 2020 the Advanta Consulting company announced creation of a management system for investment projects in "Industrial metallurgical holding" (IMH).

For effective development extracting and processing industries PMH implements large-scale investment projects. In total in a portfolio of PMH more than 300 projects reside. The territorial remoteness of the enterprises of holding, a large number of objects of repair both new constructions and need of standardization of processes of management of projects caused implementation information system ADVANTA.

Implementation project objective:

  • Implementation of a single system of management and control of investments at the enterprises of holding;
  • Process automation of investment activities and collecting of the reporting under projects

Tasks:

  • Lead processes and documents to a uniform type, to consolidate information on the implemented projects in a single system of project management;
  • Lower labor costs on preparation of the reporting within investment activities;
  • Implement a control system of payments on investment activities based on ISUP and 1S Budgeting.

" before the company was on the threshold of implementation of ISUP a number of the sensitive issues connected with project management:
  1. Distortion of the reporting, low informational content and high labor costs on its preparation;
  2. Duration of collecting and providing data from different sources (finally, information lost relevance).
  3. Lack of an opportunity to trace the history of decision making on projects (all information was stored separately at employees on places).

We solved all these problems by system implementation of project management of ADVANTA and its integration with systems which are already existing into the companies. So, integration with 1C where ISUP acts regarding the payment schedule and the reference book of projects was carried out, and the accounting system transfers data on the fact of payments to ISUP",


Project deliverables for March, 2020:

  • Based on the ADVANTA platform the single system of management of investment projects is created.
  • 100% of investment projects are transferred to a system.
  • The unified register of investment projects with tracking at the different levels (enterprise/project/subject to budgeting) is implemented.
  • Templates of projects are developed, forms of monitoring of projects and reports on a project portfolio status are configured.
  • The control technique by projects on control points is applied.
  • The schedule is configured and automatic collecting of the fact on project implementation is started.
  • The system of assessment of success of projects on the basis of an adherence to deadlines and effective use of resources is implemented.
  • 50 users are connected to a system and trained in basic functionality.
  • A system is integrated with 1C.

"Up-to-date information on projects of holding is output in real time with indication of relevance of the diagram of projects implementation and execution of the approved diagram of financing of projects. Earlier these data were kept in Excel with updating once a month. A common information space for all participants of investment activities is organized. Meetings on monitoring of implementation of investment projects are held on the basis of the data unloaded online from a system. In the next plans for development of a system – integration of ISUP with electronic document management systems and purchase managements",

"In 2018 in 3 months the ADVANTA system implementation project in Industrial metallurgical holding was implemented. The main works on implementation were carried out by the customer's specialist. We provided additional training of administrators within which we helped to deal with an OLAP cubes and Excel reports. On the basis of this knowledge the team of the customer configured the module on management of finance of an investment program. Also users – 50 people from different production sites through the whole country were trained. A system was brought into trial operation in Tula (POLEMA plant). Also the customer by own efforts made integration of a system with 1C. The management of holding is going to keep all investment projects only in the ADVANTA system",
