2020: Start

On March 16, 2020 the network of the small wholesale centers Metro announced start of service, joint with Sbermarket, for shipment at own expense of goods — Click & Collect. He will allow clients to buy remotely alcohol which is unavailable to online sales because of legislative restrictions.

Click & Collect will allow to take away orders from Metro shop without the need for approval of time of couriers. The order of products, including alcohol is possible via the website delivery.metro-cc.ru, mobile application of Metro and also the website and mobile application of Sbermarket.

The pickup location of Internet orders from the website will represent the special premises in shopping center with a separate input, the room of waiting with point-of-sale terminals and coffee zone. Issue of the order will be made in 10 minutes.

For storage of orders the certain warehouse with freezing and refrigerating cameras, the storage area at a normal temperature for observance of separate storage of food and household chemicals is selected. In case of a design of a reserve of alcoholic products payment will be made directly in Metro shop only after check of an age of majority of the buyer.

The Sbermarketa IT laboratory developed a new solution on the technology platform which provides a chain of processes at all stages of order placement through shipment at own expense.

At first the service will be available only in shopping center Metro on Leningradskoye Highway in Moscow. Then to it it is going to connect other capital hypermarkets of network. It is expected that for half a year service will come to an average value in 300 orders a day.

It is noted that start of shipment at own expense is continuation of development of delivery of Internet orders from Metro.^[1]
