2020: Implementation of DWH

On March 17, 2020 it became known that the East company AT Consulting implemented a storage system based on open source-технологий in the Ministry of digital development and communication of the Novosibirsk region. The solution provides independence of the western proprietary software and also scaling allows to cut down operating expenses.

As the main motivation of the customer the aspiration to failure from the foreign proprietary software within import substitution strategy implementation served. AT Consulting the East implemented in the IT ministry of the Novosibirsk region DWH based on a stack of technologies open source of Ceph/PetaSAN.

The main functional characteristic of the created solution — a possibility of storage of high-capacity "cold" data (1 PB and 576 Tb) due to use of "slow" spindle disks. Important and the fact that a system allows to save budgetary funds considerably. Thanks to the architecture unrolled based on open source costs for support of software and SAN networks are reduced.

The possibility of horizontal scaling of DWH by means of adding of servers with similar disks and also a possibility of inclusion of a "hot" pool of the servers given by adding with fast SSD disks is implemented. The friendly web-based graphical user interface and the built-in monitoring with the notification about events on e-mail optimize work of users with a system.

Creation of the difficult infrastructure projects meeting the requirements of time including regarding import substitution, is the main competence of our company. In the course of formation of digital national economy the key part is assigned to the regional IT ministries — on their shoulders subject work on informatization of authorities, creation of digital services lays down.
