Consolidation with "Litres: Listen!"

Litres group which for May, 2020 includes the projects Litres, MyBook, Livelib, Litres: Samizdat, Litres: Reader, Litres: The library, announced start updated applications Litres, created based on two previous versions — "Litres: Read!" and "Litres: Listen!". It is possible to find the range in it electronic and audiobooks and also thematic selections and recommendations from experts. Besides, in the Litres application there was a function allowing to switch between electronic and the audioversion of the work. For May 26, 2020 the application is available both to devices with OS Android, and for iOS. Application "Litres: Listen!" only with audiobooks will also remain in Apple Store and Google Market.

To us it is important that service electronic and audiobooks was convenient, first of all, for users therefore Litres constantly improves and finishes the website and applications. The updated application will allow us to increase audience of listeners of audiobooks and podcasts. At the end of 2019 sales of audiobooks on the website and in applications Litres in natural and monetary value grew more, than by 75%, in comparison with previous year. The large role in development of a segment is played by our own recording studio and Litres: The reader — the project where anyone can read the book. In 2019 project participants wrote about 38% of all audiobooks published on Litres, tells Alexander Bobrovsky, the development director of Litres group.

In the updated application function of switching from the book, electronic on the audioversion, appeared (and vice versa). Now, if the user in a personal account has both versions of the book, he can continue to read or listen to the work from the same page on which he stopped. To use this function, it is necessary to click a book card on the website or in the application and to select a necessary format from the description. For the end of May, 2020 this function is available to 80% of a total quantity of the audiobooks provided in service. Earlier, in February, 2020, in the application "Read!" function of a bukmetching which works by analogy with deyting-service and gives the chance to users to put "hearts" to the pleasant quotes was started. Its main objective — to improve the recommendatory Litres system and to make it more exact to select for users of the book who will be pleasant to them. In three months since launch users nasvaypit in different directions more than 500 thousand quotes.

In the updated application Litres all functions of the previous versions are available: the system of recommendations, popular books, a fact-finding fragment, responses, estimates and the complete information about the work in each card.

Every month application "Litres: Read!" on the Android operating system 1.3 million users, on iOS — about 900 thousand use on average. According to the results of the quarantine period from March 24 to May 8, 2020 the highest growth is shown by sales of audiobooks in mobile application "Litres: Listen!". On the Android platform it made 90% in comparison with the same period of 2019.

Transfer of book releases to online

On April 2, 2020 the Litres group reported that together with Eksmo-AST holding for the period of a pandemic of a coronavirus developed strategy of support of reader's demand and support of authors due to transition to other business model. In the nearest future a part of publications will appear in an electronic format on the website Litres.ru and in applications "Litres: Read!" and "Litres: Listen!".

When offline bookstores are closed, a number of books will appear online, to a release of these works on paper, or only in an electronic format. It will allow readers to get acquainted quickly with knik during this period when reading became one of the main pleasures in life again.

Already on April 2, 2020 on platforms of Litres group – on the website Litres.ru and in applications "Litres: Read!" – there will be books by the famous authors of Eksmo publishing house:

• the book by the master of modern sentimental prose Maria Metlitskaya "Carefully, doors are closed". The collection included the story of the same name and two more short stories – Gift and Letter. Their heroes are integrated by a common desire to become happy, to reach compromise between internal requirements and external circumstances;
• the compelling adventure story from Tatyana Polyakova whose books constantly take top positions of ratings of the last years, "Four riders of contention". The legendary mysterious four again in case, now they should understand in the history, the tale of Blue Boroda repeating, at first sight, a plot … But not everything is so simple!
• the novel by the author of mystical thrillers and detectives Tatyana Stepanova "Cyclops and the nymph" in which crimes are committed with a semicentennial difference and one of characters appears Alexander Pushkin's descendant. The criminal observer Ekaterina Petrovskaya should learn what moved criminals – self-interest, revenge or passion?
• the hypnotic intellectual thriller by Roman Kanushkin Operator – cinematic history which allows to plunge into the dark world of the maniac making crimes on plots of books of the famous writer.

The list of premier books will be replenished every week. There will be books by Anna Todd "The brightest stars" – a sensual story about love and delusions and also the history of occupation of Earth unknown weeds from a star of YouTube of Max Maximov "The light person" and others.

The e-book — a format, safe, fast and convenient for the reader. It allows to read and listen to books where and when necessary, all best-sellers are at distance of one click. Litres always provided the readers with access to the wide range electronic and audiobooks in the market with the minimum terms of emergence of books. We will do everything that readers in the conditions of a quarantine could read as much as possible and receive all books for which they so wait. Our initiative was already supported by the largest publishing houses, and we invite all others to join it.
