2016-2018: Head of Home Market

From 2016 to 2018, Andrei Telenkov headed the Home Market chain of stores, which sells goods for the house.

2020: Chapter NtechLab

In early April 2020, it became known about the change of CEO in NtechLab, a company engaged in the development of facial recognition systems and other biometric technologies. Since March 31, the company began to be led by Andrei Telenkov.

The change of head of NtechLab was reported by Rusbase with reference to the data of the Kontur.Focus system. The company itself refrained from commenting.

Telenkov as general director NtechLab replaced Alexander Minin, who worked in this position for a little more than a year. Leading the company, he focused on the development of the product line and increasing sales in the state and corporate segments both in Russia and in international markets. Before Minin, the company was headed by Mikhail Ivanov, who, according to the developer, "laid the foundation that will contribute to business development over the coming years."

The change of CEO NtechLab became known after the Kommersant newspaper, citing its sources, reported that technology technologies will be used by the Moscow authorities to track the movement of people during the period of self-isolation in real time. Later, a company representative said that the authorities did buy advanced facial recognition technologies.

The algorithms created in NtechLab are able to recognize faces "with a significant percentage of overlap" (up to 40%), that is, neither a medical mask, nor a headscarf, nor a motorcycle helmet will interfere with the system. In addition, the camera can also recognize a face turned into a profile. According to the publication, photographs of quarantine violators and coronavirus-infected COVID-19, in which the disease is mild and treated at home, will be included in the NtechLab system.[1]
