Rostelecom will build and service in the south Tele2 networks

2020: Construction plans and service of network

On May 8, 2020 Rostelecom South reported that together with Tele2 signed the construction contract, upgrade and maintenance of base stations of mobile operator. A service part of the agreement extends to the regions of the Southern Federal District entering an area of responsibility of the southern macroregional branch of the company.

Specialists of Rostelecom will carry out construction of base stations in Krasnodar Krai, the Rostov and Volgograd region. Within cooperation with Tele2 during 2020 the national digital provider is going to construct 131 km of fiber-optical infrastructure, 4 base stations and to upgrade more than 80 similar objects.

We cooperate with Tele2 on a permanent basis long ago. Even before integration it in group of Rostelecom our specialists implemented a set of projects on service of network of this telecom operator in the south. The signed agreement became logical continuation of development of these relations. It is sure that we will not be satisfied with what has already been achieved and are ready to expand cooperation especially as we within the B2O direction have a set of solutions and services which we are ready to offer. Among them provision of services on the ADAS project, construction, service and operation of an optical network, development of different infrastructure services and many other things, – Pavel Shalyugin, the director of work with telecom operators of MRF "South" of PJSC Rostelecom told.

Rostelecom within own activity develops the B2O direction (work in the market of interoperator services) since 2017. The national digital provider builds and services networks and base stations, provides own infrastructure and traffic in lease, develops services for end customers of the partners. In this direction the company cooperates both with operators of "Big Four", and with other federal and regional players of the market regardless of their scale and a scope of territories.

Development of a high-quality and available communication in the large cities where Internet traffic constantly grows, and in the small remote localities of the southern regions remains for us a priority task. Pays special attention of Tele2 to the resort area of the Black Sea coast where there come millions of vacationers from all corners of Russia. Tele2 sees on behalf of Rostelecom of the financial and steady partner in operation and construction of a mobile network. The joint project allows us to reach high rates of quality of the provided services and to develop own services taking into account ample digital opportunities. The agreement provides active development of 4G network in regions of presence of the company in the south. We analyze work of network infrastructure using special opportunities of big data and we plan upgrade in compliance with the changing customer needs, – Konstantin Motlyakh, the director of the macroregion noted South of Tele2.
