2020: Demonstration of the robot

In the middle of May, 2020 provided to Amazon the robot disinfector for grocery stores and distribution centers. The company published video with demonstration of opportunities of innovation.

Creation of such robot became the reply of Amazon to disorders among workers who require to close distribution centers for disinfection at detection of patients with COVID-19. It is known that the robot will disinfect surfaces using ultra-violet (UF) radiation, but the company does not announce specific terms of release of the device and its opportunities yet.

Possibly, the company hinted at use of this concept earlier when the vice president for robotics of Amazon Brad Porter (Brad Porter) spoke about work on "the mobile platform of UF-disinfection" on the page in LinkedIn social network.

Provided to Amazon the robot disinfector for shops

In the advertizing video of Amazon also showed a number of the measures taken in response to COVID-19 pandemic. They include the analysis of dabs of a nose at employees, fast check of temperature at an input in the building disinfecting the equipment with sprayers and mobile stations for washing of hands.

Amazon also tries to strengthen measures of social distancing by "a video of all the employees and use of artificial intelligence for studying of their movements". In the report it is noted that cameras are also used "for tracking of contacts with the purpose of identification of the workers who came into contact with the sick colleague, and sendings them on a quarantine".

Told Amazon that only at the beginning of the second quarter 2020 the company spent more than $4 billion for fight against COVID-19.
