Lukoil launches NB-IoT network for remote control objects of oil production

Customers: LUKOIL-Perm

Perm; Oil industry

Contractors: MegaFon
Product: MegaFon of NB-IoT

Project date: 2020/05

On May 18, 2020 it became known of start in Lukoil of the NB-IoT network intended for remote control by objects of oil production. The technology is implemented in the territory of workshop of oil and gas production No. 7 of LUKOIL-Perm company. The project was implemented by MegaFon.

The operator started the system of remote monitoring and management of operation of wells. Such parameters as current intensity, tension, power, a status of pumps and a ground equipment, shaft speed of the engine and pressure upon well head are remotely controlled.

Through NB-IoT network the automatic data acquisition from zamerny installations, water distribution points, vulgar objects is also organized. In particular, pressure in the capacitive equipment, outputs on wells and water expenses are controlled.

In the online mode we control the technological processes, parameters important at oil production. The created data collection system helps to minimize idle time of wells and to react timely to change in processes and operation modes of the equipment — the representative of the president of Lukoil company in Perm Krai  Oleg Tretyakov reported.

As reported in MegaFon the NB-IoT network has the increased capacity. Each such base station is capable to service 2 million sensors. The NB-IoT technology allows business to reduce significantly costs at implementation of smart devices in production,  the operator noted.

According to the director of MegaFon in Perm Krai Ilya Golovnin, NB-IoT devices are almost autonomous and capable to work without recharge about 10 years.  He also added that thanks to the project implemented in Lukoil the reliable communication and the LTE Internet managed to be provided not only on fields, but also for residents of the neighboring settlements: in villages Small and medium Golovnikh, Opalikh, Ryabchat, Sukhanovo, Mahoney and Hillocks.[1]
