2020: Access opening

On May 21, 2020 the Federal Archival Agency (Rosarkhiv) opened access to the "World War II in Archive Documents" project. Information resources, become the first part of a complex of the digitized archive documents, film and photographic materials about World War II and available to everyone, earned from  the portal  of Presidential library of Yeltsin of the Presidential Property Management Department of the Russian Federation.

The pre-war period — entered  from January, 1933 to August 31, 1939 the first part.  A gradual exit of Germany from the Versailles agreements signed according to the results of World War I, militarization  of the Third Reich and transition to policy of aggression and annexation of territories is reflected in them. Also a part of documents is devoted so-called to No. to policy of appeasement of an aggressor" which was conducted by the western powers, first of all Great Britain and France. The second part of documents will probably be devoted to the period from September 1, 1939 to June 22, 1941.

Rosarkhiv opened access to electronic documents on World War II

By May 21, 2020 in archive 1700 archive documents, photos, newsreel fragments are submitted; nearly a half of them is published for the first time. All digitized documents are supplied with the archive description in the Russian and English languages.

In a conversation with TASS the head of Rosarkhiv Andrey Artizov noted earlier that on the portal the most important, important documents which disclose background of World War II, its course and results will be submitted. Project value, Artizov told, is in its complexity, that political, prospecting, diplomatic documents, at last, trophy documents, documents from archives of England, the United States are collected.[1]

The publication of electronic documents on World War II is prepared compliance with the list of instructions on implementation of the message of the president Russia Vladimir Putin to Federal Assembly of January 15, 2020.[2]
