2020: Appointment of the deputy chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation
On May 22, 2020 the Bank of Russia announced Alexey Zabotkin's appointment to a post of the deputy the chairman of the board supervising monetary policy and the department of the same name. Appointment will become effective on June 1.
Before becoming the deputy chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Zabotkin headed department of monetary policy in the regulator. Now its place will be taken by the former director of the department of macroeconomic forecasting of the Ministry of Economic Development Kirill Tremasov.
On a new post Zabotkin will supervise questions of implementation of the monetary policy (MP) including work of the department run by it still.
After Zabotkin's increase DKP will be supervised again by the deputy chairman of the Central Bank. Since 2016 any of deputy chairmen was not given such authority, and the department of monetary policy was directly supervised by the chairman Elvira Nabiullina.[1]
