Anatoly Tikhonovich Grindenko is the Russian choral conductor, the regent. Brother T.T. Grindenko. Founder (1983) and head of church choir "Old Russian singsong".

Biography

Anatoly Grindenko was born in 1950 in Kharkiv.

Studied at the St. Petersburg and Moscow music special schools in a violin class. After the termination of the Moscow Conservatory gave concerts as the soloist (da gamba's viol) in Russia and abroad much, including with the sister Tatyana Grindenko (violin) and Alexey Lyubimov (harpsichord), having won broad popularity as the masterly contractor-soloist and as the participant of different ensembles.

Under the leadership of the honored restorer of Russia Adolf Ovchinnikov studied an iconography.

In 1980 organizes chorus from among pupils of seminary and spiritual academy in Trinity-Sergius Lavra.

In 1984 bases the first monastic chorus in only the opening Danilov Monastery in Moscow.

In 1985 on blessing of the archbishop Pitirim organizes in Moscow men's chorus at Publishing department of the Moscow Patriarchy. The purpose of creation of chorus – recovery of Old Russian church singing and its return to Liturgical practice. From now on the chorus regularly accompanies Church services, using Old Russian singsongs. Along with it, in the repertoire of chorus there are a lot of works by the Russian composers of the 19-21st centuries, the Russian national songs, the Ukrainian Christmas carols.

The chorus releases 13 compact disks in France (opus-111, Paris) which are highly appreciated by the international criticism, 3 compact disks are released in Russia, one in Germany and one in Poland. Almost each of them is a world premiere.

Since 1986 as a part of Moscow the Orpharyon barques trios played at festivals of ancient music in Utrecht (Holland), Kolambiya (USA), Dublin (Ireland), Soprane (Hungary), Tallinn, Riga, Leipzig and many others.

In 1988 the disk with records of chorus of the Moscow Patriarchy "Earlier Russian polyphony" is released (the best music of Russia enters the list ". List of TAdviser").

In 1998 in Paris, together with the restorer A.N. Ovchinnikov, the book "Divine Harmony" about an icon and Liturgical singing in ancient Russia is published.

As the conductor A. Grindenko works with different monastic choruses and also secular collectives in Russia and abroad. Gives master classes.
