2020: Implementation of AI model of diagnosis of a coronavirus

On May 22, 2020 the company Sberbank reported that it concluded with Krasnoyarsk Krai and Kuzbass agreements on free connection of regional clinics to the model developed by bank artificial intelligence (AI) who can become an assistant doctors in to diagnostics and treatment of a coronavirus.

According to the company, in the city of Kemerovo access to AI model was got by two hospitals, in Krasnoyarsk — three. In the next few days Sberbank will sign similar agreements with the Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions (on two hospitals). In total in May and June, 2020 will pass ten clinics in different regions of the country to work with AI model. Doctors and technical specialists of these medical institutions and also the profile staff of territorial banks of Sberbank were already trained on work with AI model.

The model developed by bank selects on to the computer tomogram (KT) change lungs, caused by pneumonia (including because of COVID-19) and also calculates the volume of these changes in relation to the volume of lungs that is important for determination of weight of course of a disease.

The model is created by radiologists and artificial intelligence specialists on the basis of data bulks. Its implementation can facilitate considerably work to doctors, help with prioritization of patients and quality control, to increase statistics accuracy.

So far Sberbank sets AI model on the equipment of the clinic. A system can be integrated into PACS, and in this case KT-pictures of lungs are decrypted automatically, and doctors have access to viewing results from workstations. The analysis of one picture requires a large number of calculations and borrows from three to five minutes.

In the nearest future also start of the solution in a cloud is planned that will allow to provide access to model to the bigger number of clinics.

After we opened access to our AI model, Sberbank received a flow of addresses and questions from governors and the regional Ministries of Health about models and volume as to be connected to it. Less than in three weeks the project team of bank provided the first wave of implementation of AI model in Siberian Federal District.
