Big Data of Mediascope move to data center of IXcellerate

2020: Agreement on placement of IT infrastructure

On June 1, 2020 it became known that IXcellerate, the operator of commercial data centers in Russia, and Mediascope, the company of the Russian market of media researches and monitoring of advertizing, signed the agreement on placement of IT infrastructure of Mediascope in data center of IXcellerate Moscow One.

Need for optimization of the existing IT infrastructure arose at Mediascope at a stage of creation of a technology platform (Mediascope Data Platform). Owing to specifics of the activity the company receives, stores and processes huge amounts of data (Big Data): 450 Tb of records of TV-air collect each half a year, more than 3.5 billion radio events contain in the database, more than 2 Tb are made by the daily entering information stream and more than 7 billion records about events on the Internet pass through the platform for one day. Constantly growing information volume requires reliable resources for their storage and ensuring quick access to them.

Mediascope selected IXcellerate from quality partner outsourcing for provision of services of DPC in Moscow as a result of the careful analysis of the Russian market. The key factors which defined the choice became:

• high reliability of work of IXcellerate and compliance to level of reliability of Tier III;
• presence on the platform of the independent platform of exchange of traffic of Eurasia Peering IX;
• presence more than 50 telecom operators and key cloud services in the same data center that is important advantage during creation of hybrid architecture.

At the first stage of cooperation the research company transferred several racks with server and network equipment to DPC of IXcellerate Moscow One and organized direct connections to clouds of Sbercloud & Huawei and also to the direct optical route of Mastertel operator connecting office Mediascope and data center of IXcellerate Moscow One.
