Polte Corporation is a developer of Cloud Location Over Cellular technology (C-LoC) whom considers the successor of GPS. Using "millions of existing cellular towers", the technology allows to trace the devices connected to cellular networks in premises from unprecedented - according to the developer - accuracy.

If someone from workers gets sick, using Polte Proximity it is possible to monitor backdating all its contacts in a workplace. Besides, it is possible to define premises where people most often approach on dangerous distance and to take any additional security measures.

Polte Proximity is connected to cellular networks 4G LTE or 5G. According to developers to develop any additional infrastructure for Proximity use, it will not be required.

All data collection and their analysis are, however, made in a cloud - most likely, own cloud of Polte. It in the theory can make some risk for data security so it is possible that some businesses will prefer to develop Proximity back-end on own resources if they are. It is unlikely, however, Proximity collects a large number of not depersonalized data. Other question as workers will treat one more device tracing each their step, and what probability that Proximity should continue to be used also after the termination of a pandemic.
