2020: China started the national database of vulnerabilities a blockchain projects
At the beginning of June, 2020 the Chinese national center of emergency response on the Internet (CERT) started the website devoted to vulnerabilities in a blockchain. The national database to which the revealed problems of cyber security of a blockchain are added now is attached to it. 247 vulnerabilities are already added to the database, from them 246 concern public blockchains and one peripheral systems. At the same time specialists remind that private blockchains do not differ in bigger resistance to cyberthreats - simply to check them more difficult.
Supporters of public blockchains claim that they are safer thanks to the maximum openness. Good decentralization provides the invariance of data. Any blockchain only on two nodes cannot be invariable, but the more quantity of nodes, the more data need to be changed at the same time that is impossible complicates work of the hacker.
CERT stated that the database was started according to the order of the Secretary general Xi Jinping "promote safe and ordered development of a blockchain". It is remarkable that the database generally covers public blockchains, despite the drastic measures undertaken by China concerning trade in cryptocurrencies and promotion of exclusive blockchains by the state.
In 2019 the research of security revealed vulnerabilities in Ethereum blockchain. For creation of rating of security of smart contracts Ethereum Trust Alliance was created. Earlier in 2020 the Depository trust and clearing corporation (DTCC) which in 2019 processed transactions with securities of the USA for the amount $2.15 quadrillion published the document on security for networks with the distributed registration (DLT). The company hopes to create consortium for development of standards in this area.[1]
