Tele2 and the government of the Pskov region signed the agreement on cooperation

2020: The agreement on interaction in the field of digitalization

On June 11, 2020 Tele2, the alternative mobile operator, and the government of the Pskov region signed the agreement on interaction in the field of digitalization of economy and development of telecommunication infrastructure of the region. The operator expressed readiness to take part in projects on development of technology of the "smart" city and creation of digital services for inhabitants of the region, authorities and the local enterprises. Announced this Tele2 on June 11, 2020.

The agreement was signed by the CEO of Tele2 Sergey Emdin and the governor of the Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov. The cooperation purpose – interaction of the operator and regional government in the field of development of information and telecommunication infrastructure of the region, including in the small and remote localities. Besides, the company will actively participate in implementation of the state program "Digital economy of Russia" in the territory of the area and to promote start convenient for the population and local business of digital services.

Among potential points there are interactions of the regional government and the mobile operator the project of digitalization of municipal economy "Smart city" is considered. He turns on development of technology of Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and also projects on automation of needs of agro-industrial complex.

Within the agreement with the regional government of 2014 Tele2 company invested about 133 million rubles in region infrastructure. Only in 2019 the operator carried out works on expansion of network in all districts of the area and in Pskov. The technology 4G was set on each antenna and mast construction in the region.

For few months of this year processes of digitalization took place a way which we planned for several years. It concerns use of different digital services and services by normal users and business. There was quite extensive group of subscribers who used only voice services and the SMS earlier, and now lead an active digital life. Development of a communications infrastructure and the different digital-systems – an integral part of prosperity of economy of regions. The greatest efficiency in this question can be reached only in cooperation with local authorities.

Modern technologies and reliable communication will allow us to achieve real results in economy of the region and the social sphere. Availability of communication in the cities and remote corners of area favorably affects quality of life of the population. It is in this respect important to cooperate with telecom operators.
