Digital long-distance truck driver

2020: Testing of service

On June 15, 2020 it became known of creation in Russia of "The digital long-distance truck driver" — the service allowing to monitor movement of a load, to control installation of the trailer, change of the driver and also final unloading.

As the official representative of NTI "Avtonet" Yaroslav Fedoseyev told TASS, the new technology will be configured on the continuous movement of the trailer with change of drivers and tractors. Such method will help to transport a load 45% faster.

In Russia "the digital long-distance truck driver" will be started for control of loads and the driver

It is supposed that on the first mile tractors take away a load from the sender's warehouse by the principle of " Yandex.taxi ". Further a load the new driver intercepts each 350 km. After transportation of a load to a transfer point, the driver returns to the initial locality.

"The digital long-distance truck driver", allegedly, reduces time of transportation of a load:  each segment of a way is the share of the new driver therefore it is not necessary to spend time for a dream and rest of the long-distance truck driver as it occurs now when 1-2 persons carry the truck several days. At new technology the working day of the driver will be rated, and  he will be able to have a rest after passing of the segment a route.

Pacing factor in reduction in cost — hiring of drivers from regions. Distant transportations begin in the central region and leave on the periphery. If the driver one, then it is necessary to employ him to Moscow area, from here deficit of drivers and a high salary. At shuttle transportation drivers live along a route, and the average salary decreases — Fedoseyev said.

New service will develop within the Avtodata platform which will collect data, to process them and to create optimal loading.  Service will work only at a permanent cargo flow. By June 15, 2020 "The digital long-distance truck driver" is tested, and large-scale implementation is planned for 2021.[1]
