On June 15, 2020 it became known that the Moscow search and rescue service received new equipment among which – the managed robot diver. It is intended to be involved in rescue of people on city reservoirs. He is capable to plunge of depth up to 200 meters.

Who developed the robot diver, is not specified. Earlier in 2020 the Russian Federal Property Fund (RFPF) allocated funds for creation of the humanoid robot diver who will be able to plunge on depth over 200 meters, developed at the Sevastopol state university.

Underwater robots are necessary to minimize work of the person in a difficult, aggressive environment — for example, is deep under water. Carrying out deep-water works with participation of the person not only is dangerous, but also is extremely expensive, and the robot can be useful in very many spheres: construction of bridges, research of sea depths, rescue operations, construction and service of underwater pipelines, cleaning of courts, etc.[1]
