2020: Development of transport macromodel of the Tyumen agglomeration

On June 16, 2020 the SIMETRA company reported that it developed transport macromodel of the city of Tyumen and the Tyumen region by request of MKU "Tyumengortrans". Work on creation of model was carried out within the project on development of the Complex Scheme of the Organization of Traffic (CSOT) and the Complex scheme of the organization of transport service of the population (KSOT) of the Tyumen agglomeration as which general contractor the Institute of Economics for Transportation and Transportation Policy of NIU "Higher School of Economics" acted (the project manager – Konstantin Trofimenko).

Since 2017, the Tyumen agglomeration takes part in implementation of the priority strategic project "Safe and Qualitative Roads". From the moment of the translation of the project in the status national, the geography of its action was expanded, and in addition to city roads to it regional roads outside agglomeration entered. Certainly, development of so large-scale network in the long term requires complex approach, accounting of the directions of development of all means of transport, traffic light objects, the organization of traffic, parkings and other components. The task of development of transport model of the Tyumen agglomeration was carried out by a command of SIMETRA company. Alexey Sannik, the director of MKU "Tyumengortrans" told

According to the company, specialists of SIMETRA company analyzed a transport situation in the region and on the basis of data retrieveds developed mathematical multimodal transport macromodel of agglomeration.

Without models creation of operable documents of transport planning is impossible. We applied the knowledge to creation of mathematical macromodel of the Tyumen agglomeration using the software packages PTV Traffic Suite. As a result of the done work we expect to see that the recommendations developed within KSOT and KSODD will be realized. Vladimir Shvetsov, the CEO of SIMETRA company noted

As a part of the project all main problem places of a street road network and routes of public transport of the Tyumen agglomeration were analyzed and the optimal solutions allowing to improve a situation in each problem point are found. However it is important to achieve that development of documents of transport planning would become a part of continuous process of improvement of the transport system. And active use of modeling already by specialists of the city administration is one of key instruments of this process. Konstantin Trofimenko, the director of the Center of researches of transport problems of megalopolises IETTP NIU Higher School of Economics explained
