AVV will take part in upgrade of the Zijin Mining Group copper mine in Serbia

2020: The agreement on upgrade of the copper mine in Serbia

AVV – the international engineering company, announced on June 30, 2020 conclusion of an agreement with Zijin Mining Group on installation of modern drives of mills with a toothed wreath and management systems on the copper mine of public type Are big Krivel (Veliki Krivelj) where about 2.5 tons of copper annually are extracted.

"Are big Krivel", located in Bor, Serbia, Zijin Mining Group in 2018 within the transaction on the Serbian copper Bohr mine which included three pits, the underground mine and copper-smelting factory was purchased. For the end of June, 2020, investments in the amount of 350 million US dollars are one of investments of China into Serbia. Zijin Mining Group is going to invest 200 million euros in transformation and expansion of the existing production capacities of the Serbian copper-smelting plant and the copper Bohr mine.

Within the project of upgrade AVV will provide delivery of drives of mills with a toothed wreath and intelligent systems of management for a semi-self-crushing mill (2x6.5 MW) and a spherical mill (2x7.5 MW) and also management systems, drives, engines, transformers and will provide a packet of complex services which will improve performance, will reduce a downtime and will increase energy efficiency.

The solution of AVV company will help to detect clogging by cuttings of material in a mill after idle time, the shaft gear wheels, controlled return runout, automatic positioning, regulated rotating speed and monitoring of cascading will ensure functioning of a mill using drives with two. The drive about a shaft gear wheel is a technology with the variable speed of rotation which allows to reduce mechanical impact on a gear wheel and a toothed wreath due to exact load distribution between two engines of each mill.
