Britain ordered 90 million vaccines from COVID-19 from Pfizer

In the middle of July, 2020 it became known that Great Britain ordered 90 million doses of vaccine against COVID-19 from alliance BioNTech/Pfizer and Valneva. Besides, AstraZeneca promises to deliver to the British authorities the latest medicine with neutralized antibodies against COVID-19 intended for those patients to whom vaccination is contraindicated.

Thanks to the agreement England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be able to receive enough doses to vaccinate priority groups of the population, such as workers of primary link of health care and social security and persons with the increased risk. In general Great Britain ordered three different types of vaccines against COVID-19 which are developed in the country and abroad to provide safe and effective vaccination in the shortest possible time.

The government also submitted the register of researches of vaccine of the National health care system (NHS) against COVID-19. The new website will allow citizens to play a role in fight against a pandemic, having taken part in future vaccine researches. Great Britain urges volunteers to be registered on the website as soon as possible to join the vital researches. The purpose consists in that by October, 2020 to take 500,000 people. Clinical trials with participation of hundreds of thousands of volunteers will help scientists and researchers it is better to understand efficiency of each candidate vaccine and considerably will accelerate work on search of safe and effective vaccine.

The government also cooperates with ZOE - the company which studies a public health on the basis of statistical data. ZOE started the popular application according to symptoms and is ready to help NHS in the field of vaccine researches, in that numbers involving volunteers to tests.[1]
