In the middle of July, 2020 in the North Chinese municipality Tianjin there were dozens of robots servicing the power transmission line. They replaced people at the dangerous works connected with high-voltage lines.

Development of robots in Tianjin Binhai Energy & Development company the head of group of abnormal repair of power supply systems of the state power supply network headed Tianjin Zhang Liming. He claims that robots can carry out low-invasive tasks on transmission lines and effectively solve small problems which can pose hazard to life of normal electricians. In comparison with the previous models, new robots it is less and easier that allows them to work at the difficult area.

Robots are put into operation in 10 power units of the Tyantszinsky power supply network (Tianjin Binhai Electric Power company). Zhang Liming also reported that robots are supplied with algorithms 3D of reconstruction of the environment, visual recognition and control by the movement. They are capable to define precisely the location and to independently plan the route according to technical standards. It is considered that robots can reduce risks of employees and improve quality of work.

The state network corporation signed the agreement with the municipal government of Tianjin on construction of base for a research, development, production, sale and maintenance of these robots. In turn, Tianjing's municipality the first will be able to adjust robotic service of the power transmission line.

Robots already performed more than 80 operations in urban, suburban and mountainous areas of Tianjin. Annual production of base of Tianjin makes 200 robots. The energy company also considers the possibility of use of other AI technologies in the energy sector for improvement of work and service of the power transmission line.^[1]
