At the end of July, 2020 the Stryker company signed the contract with the Agency on logistic support of the U.S. Department of Defense for $225 million. The company will have to deliver within ten years monitoring systems for patients and also other necessary equipment and the applied accessories. It is noted that it is about endoscopic solutions.
Though the maximum fixed price of the contract is $225 million, the agreement considers possible price adjustment depending on an economic situation. Order size and terms of its accomplishment are not specified. Production of all ordered equipment will be carried out based on Stryker to San Jose, California.
According to the statement of the U.S. Department of Defense, the Stryker company won the project on a competitive basis. In total the ministry received 52 applications. The five-year basic contract which can be prolonged for five years will be initially signed. End date of primary period of the contract - on July 16, 2025. The army, navy, the Air Force, marines and the federal civil agencies of the USA financed from means of working capital act as customers.
It not the first agreement which the Stryker company signs with the Pentagon. Earlier it was reported that the company signed the delivery contract of orthopedic products with the U.S. Department of Defense. The fixed price was $486.3 million, however it is also subject to adjustment depending on an economic situation. The company undertook to deliver required orthopedic materials for army, the fleet, the Air Force, marine corps and the federal civil agencies. At the same time the contract was expected one year with possible prolongation up to five years. The maximum fixed amount covered costs during all duration of the agreement, but the order size and terms of its accomplishment were also not specified.[1]
