Google will pay billions of Samsung for promotion of services in smartphones

At the end of July, 2020 Google and Samsung Electronics concluded large deal for promotion of Google services on smartphones of the South Korean company. Android from Google is already basic operation system on Galaxy devices, and the new transaction will be focused on promotion of the voice assistant to Google and app store of Play Store.

Thanks to the new agreement of Google the great number of new users, and will receive meanwhile own mobile services Samsung, such as digital assistant Bixby, will lose the taken positions. However decline in demand for mobile devices in time COVID-19 pandemics became a hard blow for the company therefore it is no wonder that Samsung looks for the help at the key partner. Terms of transaction are not disclosed, however is clear that Samsung will not give in free of charge. It is known that Google pays billions dollars every year by default to remain the search system in web browser Safari on iPhone and other devices Apple. Now Google will pay such amounts and Samsung.

For many years Google and Samsung maintained close and successful partnership. Google free of charge provides basic software for smartphones, but requires preliminary installation of app store of Google Play and a set of commercial products, such as Google Search, Chrome and YouTube. In exchange Google sometimes agrees to share advertizing revenues with producers. Earlier Samsung already tried to develop own services for smartphones, including Android alternative which originally was called Bada OS, and then was combined with another SOFTWARE for mobile devices in the project Tizen. The competitor of Samsung Assistant, Bixby service, was also rather popular with users. However after a pandemic the company began to rely on other sources of income.[1]
