At the beginning of August, 2020 hospitals of St. Petersburg began to implement the AI system of Sberbank for diagnostics and treatment of a coronavirus of COVID-19. The first such technology SPb will test GBUZ Gospital for veterans of wars. Then the same will be made by clinical infectious diseases hospital of S.P. Botkin.
The artificial intelligence developed by Sberbank selects on the computer tomogram of lungs of change, caused by pneumonia (including because of COVID-19) and also calculates the volume of these changes in relation to the volume of lungs that is important for determination of weight of course of a disease.
The model is created by radiologists and artificial intelligence specialists on the basis of data bulks. Its implementation can facilitate considerably work of doctors, help with prioritization of patients and quality control, to increase statistics accuracy, note in bank.
By the beginning of August the AI model is established on the equipment of the clinic. A system can be integrated into PACS (a medical transmission system and archivings of images), and in this case KT-pictures of lungs are decrypted automatically, and doctors have access to viewing results from workstations. The analysis of one picture requires a large number of calculations and takes from 3 to 5 minutes.
Further it is going to start technology in cloud infrastructure that much more medical institutions could use it.
Doctors work in the mode of the raised loadings and bear huge responsibility for correctness of the made diagnosis. A new system will allow them to draw conclusions with bigger confidence and to exclude unevident errors in the analysis of initial data. Work with medical institutions – an important step for us — the chairman of Northwest bank of Sberbank Victor Ventimilla Alonso noted. |
