2021: Option to scan items based on the purchase list

On December 13, 2021, the Russian retail chain Lenta announced the expansion of the capabilities of the Lenta-Scan system. Customers can now scan items based on their purchase list.

The pilot takes place in three stores in St. Petersburg. "Tape" offers this option to customers who use a self-scan system. The customer will be able to add the necessary goods to the Favorites list in their personal account on the lenta.com website or in the company's mobile application. On the Tape Scan self-purchase scanner screen, the buyer will see a list of selected items that will be crossed out after scanning the desired item. Thus, customers will not forget to buy the necessary products.

According to the results of the pilot, who conducts the Center for Innovation of the company together with the IT Directorate, a decision will be made to scale the experience to 65 stores equipped with the Lenta-Scan system.

The company launched the Lenta-Scan independent shopping scanning systems in hypermarkets in St. Petersburg in 2018.
