Execution of Amon Goethe in Poland

Austrian Amon Göth, commandant of a concentration camp near the Polish city of Krakow, was transferred to Poland in the summer of 1946. His trial began on August 27, 1946. And already on September 5, 1946, the Supreme National Tribunal of Poland, held in Krakow, found Amon Göth guilty of the murder of more than 2 thousand people and sentenced him to death by hanging.

On September 13, 1946, at the age of 37, Amon Goet was hanged in the courtyard of Montelupich Prison, near the former Plashov concentration camp.
