2020: Forbank purchased Pochtobank

At the end of August, 2020 the procedure of accession was started Pochtobank to Forbank. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation which received reported about it the adequate notice from Forbank. Both credit institutions are owners of the basic license, specified the regulator.

Genbank sold Pochtobank to shareholders of Forbank. As explained to Kommersant one of shareholders Stanislav Baranov, Pochtobank was it is purchased for business expansion. According to him, earlier owners Forbank acquired National land industrial bank (Biysk), which was attached further. Pochtobank will also be it is attached to Forbank, it is the investment expanding geography presence of bank, Baranov specified.

Forbank purchased Pochtobank and began accession

Decisions on reorganization were made by general shareholder meeting Forbank and general meeting of shareholders of Pochtobank on August 20, 2020 years. Forbank is a participant of Deposit insurance system, in which more than 350 banks also enter.

According to the edition, in 2020 the trend of growth of number proceeded transactions on merges and merger of banks in Russia. Experts consider, that this trend will amplify.

All acquired banks are not key players in the industry. They can be of interest to merge to larger players — the managing partner of task force of Veta Ilya Zharsky says.

By estimates of the managing partner of FG "Dmitry Donskoy" Dmitry Kurbatsky, "owners of 50-60 banks anyway want to sell them or to integrate with other players". However, according to him, associations are rare as "it is very difficult for untied shareholders get on in one business". Therefore "tired" owners of banks, which do not want to go the way delivery of the license of the Central Bank, considered sales opportunity of banks.^[1]
