Russia will deliver to Mexico 32 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19 coronavirus. About it on September 9, 2020 the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) which signed the relevant agreement with the Mexican pharmaceutical company Landsteiner Scientific.
Under the terms of the agreement, Landsteiner Scientific will be engaged in distribution of the vaccine "Sputnik of V" of production of NITsEM of N.F. Gamalei. The beginning of supply of medicine to Mexico is expected in November, 2020 in case of receiving approval from the Mexican state regulating authorities. The cost of the contract is not specified.
We agreed about delivery of a considerable batch of the vaccine "Sputnik of V" to Mexico, by its results about 25% of the population of Mexico will be able to get access to effective and safe vaccine — the head of fund Kirill Dmitriyev whose words are cited in the press release noted. |
According to him, the Mexican partners understand advantages of "Sputnik of V" over other candidate vaccines. In particular, they select much bigger study of the platform of adenoviral vectors of the person in comparison with such new production technologies of vaccines as adenoviral vectors of a monkey or MRNK. Security of the adenoviral vectors of the person applied in the vaccine "Sputnik of V" was proved for decades in more than 250 clinical trials, and they are the platform of delivery of genetic material, most suitable for the person, during creation of vaccines as people coexist with adenoviruses of the person already more than 100 thousand years, Dmitriyev says.
According to him, unlike the studied adenoviral vectors of the person, there are no long-term researches of new technologies of adenoviral vectors of a monkey and MRNK therefore 66% of residents of Mexico trusted to the Russian vaccine.[1]
