2020: Start of a system of processing of hard drives using hydrogen
On September 18, 2020 the technology of complete processing of computer hard drives knew of creation in Russia. It was developed by engineers of Ruselectronics who found a method completely to process magnets from HDD by means of processing by hydrogen, and then to synthesize new magnets from the received hydrides.
Ingots of aluminum and iron, requirement for which for the domestic industry is also very high – so, will become other product of processing, consumption of aluminum annually grows in Russia for 11%, it is specified in the press release.
It is noted that the technology allows to process all components of disks – a payment, aluminum, iron and magnets. Processing started in vitro, the first sales began. Full start of a technology chain will allow to process up to 80 tons of magnets a year.
This know-how can be used also in other spheres – for return to secondary turnover of magnets from engines, centrifuges, oil pumps and other equipment — explained in the press service of Rostec. |
Development was among leaders according to the results of the educational program Vector which is carried out by Academy of Rostec. On hard magnetic disk drives JSC Spetsmagnit entering into Ruselectronics holding was engaged in processing of the fulfilled drives
It is expected that processing of HDD in Russia will allow, including, to reduce dependence on import — by September, 2020 almost all permanent magnets used in domestic production are bought in China.
As showed poll of experts in erasing of data of Blancco, most the organizations cannot correctly utilize the written-off disks, risking penalties for disclosure of customer information and the employees or spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for storage of the failed equipment which they could return on a guarantee. Often, during the work with confidential data, the organization assigns to the supplier all expenses on replacement of the failed disks.
