2020: Pilot projects on use of service based on AI "Tsels. Mammography"

In Dagestan pilot projects on use of service on the basis of artificial intelligence technologies – "Came to the end with Tsels. Mammography". Four medical institutions of the Republic of Dagestan were connected to an experiment: State Budgetary Institution RD Respublikansky onkologichesky center, State Budgetary Institution RD Respublikansky perinatalny center and State Budgetary Institution RD Lakskaya centralnaya rayonnaya hospital and also Mammology Center "L7". On October 1, 2020 reported about it in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan.

Tsels is the domestic system developed by the Kaluga company Meditsinskiye skrining sistemy LLC for support of adoption of medical solutions (SPPVR) which main destination is the analysis of radiographic pictures for the purpose of identification of symptoms of different pathologies, in particular signs of oncology at an early stage.

Within the experiment the artificial intelligence processed 1837 mammographic pictures. Service performed "second reading" — i.e. in addition analyzed pictures with which the radiologist worked.

Implementation of pilot projects took place on a grant basis thanks to the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan concluded in September, 2019, the Ministry of informatization, communication and mass communications of the Republic of Dagestan and Meditsinskiye skrining sistemy LLC for development of information and communication technologies in the field of health care in the territory of the Republic of Dagestan.

According to the results of pilot tests the conclusion was drawn that use of artificial intelligence positively affects quality of diagnosis. Service not only increases detectability, but also minimizes an error probability, caused by a human factor. As of October 2 the possibility of start of pilot projects in other medical institutions of the Republic of Dagestan is discussed.

As the main direction for pilot tests of a system researches of radiographic pictures of mammary glands regarding diagnosis of oncological diseases of a female breast were selected (mammography). Mammography is capable to detect cysts, fibroadenoma, kaltsinata, a cancer tumor. Early diagnosis of cancer of mammary glands saves lives to thousands of women. The pilot project was designed to check whether the quality of detection of pathologies at a stage of early diagnostics as timely detected tumor gives good chances of recovery without transaction and chemotherapy can increase service, noted in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan.
