2020: Providing Kamensk district with communication of the farm of Kochetovka

Rostelecom and MegaFon provided with communication the farm of Kochetovka of the Kamensk district of the Rostov region. Rostelecom South reported about it on October 5, 2020. The project in the locality with population about 400 people became possible thanks to the ADAS technology developed by national digital provider together with telecom concern Huawei.

Specialists of Rostelecom designed a metal support 24 meters high which representatives of administration of Kochetovka helped to make and set. On its basis technicians mounted three sectors of the antenna working in the range of 1800 MHz and providing a covering with cellular communication of the territory in a radius of 3 km. The national digital provider stretched 440 m of the optical cable using which he connected the equipment of ADAS in the farm of Kochetovka and the base station of MegaFon in the settlement Upper Grachiki, thus having provided connection to cellular network infrastructure.

This project on the basis of our service of NaaS – 'Mobile Network as Service' – became the second in the south and pilot in the Rostov region. It provided with cellular communication residents of the settlement in which installation of the standard base station was not profitable earlier. Thanks to the applied ADAS technology and connection using our optical infrastructure we found the solution which minimized basic costs, helped to expand a covering with cellular communication for our partner and solved an important social problem, – Pavel Shalyugin, the director of work with telecom operators of macroregional branch "Yug" of Rostelecom emphasized.

The project was started in 2019 at the initiative of the minister of information technologies and communication of the Rostov region Herman Lopatkin. Rostelecom proposed the ready-made solution which was implemented in many localities Povolozhsky of the federal district earlier and also in the settlement Sea Krasnodar Krai.

By detailed consideration of the project we selected ADAS technology as the most profitable and implementable in short terms. For us it is important to develop a covering of network regardless of a market konjektura, with the purpose to provide real opportunities for inhabitants of the region to use communication and services where they would not be. Rostelecom in the Rostov region in 2019 ahead of schedule implemented one more project on a scope digital trunking of remote localities numbering inhabitants from 250 to 500 people. Within the federal program for elimination of digital inequality free wireless Internet access appeared at residents of 395 settlements of the region. For this purpose specialists of the company set access points on Wi-fi technology and constructed more than four thousand kilometers of optical infrastructure.
