2020: Announcement of EdgeIPS Pro

On October 7, 2020 the Trend Micro Incorporated company provided the "smart" system of prevention of invasion (IPS) for industrial environments which was developed for protection of large-scale networks against the critical attacks and decrease in level of capital and operating costs.

According to the company, the solution EdgeIPS Pro of TXOne Networks company was specially created for large "smart" objects of production in such industries as automotive industry and production of semiconductors where the systems of centralized operation and the automated plants with several production lines are applied. This solution will become a part of an extensive packet of the products Trend Micro for protection of this segment which covers all levels of network infrastructure — from "cloud" perimeter to corporate IT systems, production operations on places, the systems of the supervisory control (SC) and different levels of management systems.

Convergence of IT and OT (information and operational technologies) at the "smart" enterprises brought opportunities in respect of performance, but also increased the risks in the field of cyber security connected with infection with the malware and unauthorized access to network. It can stop completely production as on similar objects the "flat" network architecture is most often unrolled, and they are closely interconnected that does them vulnerable for the attacks. Owners of production structures need the suitable solution for ensuring network security which supports segmentation of network and is capable to protect their infrastructure, without preventing to reach the main business objectives, i.e. without reducing performance of systems.

Standard solutions for security of IT networks not so easily adapt to requirements of OT, especially so far as concerns support of industry network protocols. At the same time the existing security systems of industrial networks meet difficulties in the field of centralized operation as these solutions need to be unrolled and serviced individually for hundreds of objects and networks existing in production workshops.

EdgeIPS Pro is the industrial intentsionno-focused array of IPS created using single-pass technology of deep inspection of packets of TXOne (TXODPI) company. The solution provides a possibility of segmentation of network using mezhsetevogo ekrana/IPS/filtering of protocols with support of industry network protocols. At the same time for its work there is no need to change configuration settings of networks of the existing assets that in addition reduces initial costs for system deployment. Also EdgeIPS Pro provides centralized operation by large-scale industrial networks with support of a hardware bypass of third generation with 48 or 96 ports and differs in a simple form factor in deployment for installation in a rack.
