In October 2020, it became known about the planned reconstruction of clinic No. 2 of the Medical Radiological Scientific Center (MRNC) named after A.F. Tsyba - a branch of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in Obninsk, Kaluga Region. The corresponding tender was announced by the directorate of a single customer-developer of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

This competition includes an amount of 747 million rubles, and total investments in the project are estimated at 1.3 billion rubles. The launch of the corps is scheduled for 2022.

Clinic No. 2 with a total area of ​ ​ 22.14 thousand square meters. m was built in 1970, it is located in the clinical sector of Obninsk and is designed for 220 beds. The building houses medical and diagnostic units and several separately located operating units, in the extension - a therapeutic and high-dose chemotherapy department with 10 beds, chemotherapy departments for hematological diseases and solid tumors with 20 beds each and four operating rooms.

The total area of ​ ​ work on the reconstruction of the seven-story building will be 7.8 thousand square meters. m, the deadline for the delivery of the object is scheduled for June 1, 2022. All investments included in the projects will be allocated by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation under the federal targeted investment program.

The Medical Radiological Research Center (MRNC) named after A.F. Tsyba was created to develop and improve methods of radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy, prevent and treat radiation injuries, study the biological and medical effects of ionizing radiation. Earlier, a proton therapy center was opened on the basis of the clinic in Obninsk, in which more than 200 patients were treated in three years.

In the department of radionuclide therapy of the Medical Radiological Scientific Center named after A.F. Tsyba in the city of Obninsk, 70-90 people receive treatment per week. Here, more than half of the therapeutic radiopharmaceutical drugs produced in Russia are consumed.[1]
