2023: Opening of the first GMP laboratory of cellular technologies in Russia
In January 2023, the Kaluga Region opened the first GMP laboratory of cellular technologies in Russia. It was launched at the A.F. Tsyba Medical Radiological Scientific Center.
An innovative scientific and production complex of cellular technologies of the GMP class includes a bone marrow transplantation department, which will make it possible to make a breakthrough in the treatment of patients with cancer. At the opening of the research and production complex, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko emphasized the importance of scaling up the production of radiopharmaceuticals in Russia.

The minister stressed that by January 2023, morphological, genetic, biochemical methods, and radiation diagnostics are used in the diagnosis of cancer. The treatment uses surgical methods of treatment, radiation therapy, radiopharmaceuticals, chemotherapy, as well as unique cellular technologies that actually close the full cycle of the most modern technologies, he added.
According to Andrei Kaprin, Director General of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the new GMP laboratory plans to produce drugs for a personalized approach to cancer patients, including those with reduced immunity, which has exhausted all the possibilities of chemotherapy.
Personalized cell therapy is one of the most relevant trends in medicine today. Biomedical cell products are widely used in regenerative medicine, for example, in case of damage to the cartilaginous surface of the joints, for corneal repair, in the therapy of oncological and cardiovascular diseases, they significantly reduce the level of disability, improve the quality of life of patients.
Murashko said that it is important not only to develop innovative drugs, open new laboratories and radiopharmaceutical pharmacies, but also to appreciate the work of doctors - laboratory employees, nurses, doctors. 2020: A.F. Tsyba Medical Radiological Research Center updates the clinic for 1.3 billion rubles
In October 2020, it became known about the planned reconstruction of clinic No. 2 of the Medical Radiological Scientific Center (MRNC) named after A.F. Tsyba - a branch of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in Obninsk, Kaluga Region.
