2021: Purchase of dialysis and endoscopy consumables developer Cantel Medical
In mid-January 2021, surgeon equipment manufacturer Steris acquired dialysis and endoscopy consumables developer Cantel Medical for $4.6 billion. The deal is expected to close by June 30, 2021, following regulatory and shareholder approval from Cantel. Read more here.
2020: Purchase of disposable medical and surgical products manufacturer Key Surgical
In mid-October 2020, Steris announced the acquisition of Key Surgical for $850 million. Steris is eligible for a tax credit that would actually reduce the purchase price to about $810 million. Key Surgical's one-off product portfolio will be an essential addition to Steris's surgical equipment, according to Steris. The company expects the deal to deliver revenue, profitability and profit growth for Steris. Read more here.
